Print the correct error from Core::System::chdir() instead of errno, and
display the error in the DirectoryView instead of continuing to show the
previous location's contents.
This regressed in 1dc3ba6ed5.
The immutability of the string is not relevant here, since the string
we're given was allocated in the IPC serialization layer and will be
destroyed shortly afterwards. Additionally, noone relies on
DeprecatedString-specific functionality. This will make it easier to
convert the IPC layer itself to String later on.
Since these are stored as numbers, and "1,2,3,5,6" is a bit meaningless
to anyone who looks at this code, the default set of visible columns is
provided as it was before, by them all being visible except a couple
that are specifically hidden.
The callback is wrapped in a debounce() so that if set_visible_columns
() is called, we'll just save the value once instead of doing so for
each column changed.
Corrects a slew of titles, buttons, labels, menu items and status bars
for capitalization, ellipses and punctuation.
Rewords a few actions and dialogs to use uniform language and
punctuation.
The pattern to construct `Application` was to use the `try_create`
method from the `C_OBJECT` macro. While being safe from an OOM
perspective, this method doesn't propagate errors from the constructor.
This patch make `Application` use the `C_OBJECT_ABSTRACT` and manually
define a `create` method that can bubble up errors from the
construction stage.
This commit also removes the ability to use `argc` and `argv` to
create an `Application`, only `Main`'s `Arguments` can be used.
From a user point of view, the patch renames `try_create` => `create`,
hence the huge number of modified files.
Previously, Frames could set both these properties along with a
thickness to confusing effect: Most shapes of the same shadowing only
differentiated at a thickness >= 2, and some not at all. This led
to a lot of creative but ultimately superfluous choices in the code.
Instead let's streamline our options, automate thickness, and get
the right look without so much guesswork.
Plain shadowing has been consolidated into a single Plain style,
and 0 thickness can be had by setting style to NoFrame.
Not a single client of this API actually used the event mask feature to
listen for readability AND writability.
Let's simplify the API and have only one hook: on_activation.
Add the function FileSystemModel::Node::can_delete_or_move which will
cache the result of FileSystem::can_delete_or_move for a node. This
prevents having to make system calls repeatedly to obtain this
information.
Fixes#18399
This now defaults to serializing the path with percent decoded segments
(which is what all callers expect), but has an option not to. This fixes
`file://` URLs with spaces in their paths.
The name has been changed to serialize_path() path to make it more clear
that this method will generate a new string each call (except for the
cannot_be_a_base_url() case). A few callers have then been updated to
avoid repeatedly calling this function.
Prior to this commit, when you double-click a .zip file to open it, it
gets opened in Text-Editor as there is no other file association.
Now, when FileManager is invoked with a .zip file as the first argument,
a temporary directory will be created and the .zip will be extracted
into it. Once the FileManager window is closed, Core::TempFile will
delete the temporary directory.
This adds something like what we see in other operating systems' file
explorers, except for the fact that most other operating systems will
treat the .zip file as its own independent read-only filesystem. It
would be nice to do that in the future, but I feel like this is
sufficient for now.
BackgroundActions are now added as a job to the event loop, therefore
they get canceled when the loop exits and their on_complete action never
runs. This fixes all UAF bugs related to BackgroundAction's use of
EventLoops, as seen with e.g. thumbnail generation.
This class had slightly confusing semantics and the added weirdness
doesn't seem worth it just so we can say "." instead of "->" when
iterating over a vector of NNRPs.
This patch replaces NonnullRefPtrVector<T> with Vector<NNRP<T>>.
When displaying properties for a directory, the PropertiesWindow now
shows: the total number of files, the total number of subdirectories,
and the total size of all files, in bytes.
These numbers are calculated on a background thread, and current
progress is displayed to the user every 100ms.
The treeview and the breadcrumbbar used to be on one side, sharing
drag-and-drop handling and on the other side the directory view had
its one logic.
This patch factorizes both versions, in the meantime upgrading the
version used by the treeview/breadcrumbbar that was left behind. It now
uses the copy dialog :^).
