LibC is always guaranteed to be loaded at program start, so its
thread-local variables live in the static TLS block. This permits us to
use the more optimal initial-exec TLS access model.
IFF was a generic container fileformat that was popular on the Amiga
since it was the only file format supported by Deluxe Paint.
ILBM is an image format popular in the late eighties/nineties
that uses the IFF container.
This is a very first version of the decoder that only supports
(byterun) compressed files with bpp <= 8.
Only the minimal chunks are decoded: CMAP, BODY, BMHD.
I am planning to add support for the following variants:
- EHB (32 colours + lighter 32 colours)
- HAM6 / HAM8 (special mode that allowed to display the whole Amiga
4096 colours / 262 144 colours palette)
- TrueColor (24bit)
Things that could be fun to do:
- Still images could be animated using color cycle information
This encoder can handle all integer formats and sample rates, though
only two channels well. It uses fixed LPC and performs a
close-to-optimal parameter search on the LPC order and residual Rice
parameter, leading to decent compression already.
I couldn't run the parser in a debugger like I normally would, so I
added printouts to understand where the parser is failing.
More could be added, but these are enough to get a good idea of what
the parser is doing. It's very spammy, though, so enable it by flicking
the IMAP_PARSER_DEBUG switch :^)
Two non-functional changes:
- Remove pointless `-latomic` flag. It was specified via
`add_compile_options`, which only affects compilation and not linking,
so the library was never actually linked into the kernel. In fact, we
do not even build `libatomic` for our toolchain.
- Do not disable `-Wnonnull`. The warning-causing code was fixed at some
point.
This commit also removes `-mstrict-align` from the userland. Our target
AArch64 hardware natively supports unaligned accesses without a
significant performance penalty. Allowing the compiler to insert
unaligned accesses into aligned-as-written code allows for some
performance optimizations in fact. We keep this option turned on in the
kernel to preserve correctness for MMIO, as that might be sensitive to
alignment.
We now apply MathML's default user agent style sheet along with other
default styles. This sheet is not mixed in with the other styles in
CSS/Default.css because it is a namespaced stylesheet and so has to
be its own sheet.
This does the exact same thing as the runtime initializer,
except it is faster and can catch some errors much earlier.
The code generator includes these important features:
- Automatic include generation where necessary
- Special-casing for TabWidget and ScrollableContainerWidget
- No use of DeprecatedString where possible
We weren't installing a lot of generated sources for the top level Lagom
build or for LibWeb, making it impossible to use LibWeb from a
find_package. ...And also Kernel/API/KeyCode.h, which is included by
no less than 8 different files in Userland/Libraries. We also weren't
installing any Ladybird header files.
This reduces the number of tasks to schedule, and the complexity of the
build system integrations for the BindingsGenerator. As a bonus, we move
the "only write if changed" feature into the generator to reduce the
build system load on generated files for this generator.
This does a few things:
- The decoder uses a 32- or 64-bit integer as a reservoir of the data
being decoded, rather than one single byte as it was previously.
- `read_bool()` only refills the reservoir (value) when the size drops
below one byte. Previously, it would read out a bit-sized range from
the data to completely refill the 8-bit value, doing much more work
than necessary for each individual read.
- VP9-specific code for reading the marker bit was moved to its own
function in Context.h.
- A debug flag `VPX_DEBUG` was added to optionally enable checking of
the final bits in a VPX ranged arithmetic decode and ensure that it
contains all zeroes. These zeroes are a bitstream requirement for
VP9, and are also present for all our lossy WebP test inputs
currently. This can be useful to test whether all the data present in
the range has been consumed.
A lot of the size of this diff comes from the removal of error handling
from all the range decoder reads in LibVideo/VP9 and LibGfx/WebP (VP8),
since it is now checked only at the end of the range.
In a benchmark decoding `Tests/LibGfx/test-inputs/4.webp`, decode times
are improved by about 22.8%, reducing average runtime from 35.5ms±1.1ms
down to 27.4±1.1ms.
This should cause no behavioral changes.
This partially implements CSS-Animations-1 (though there are references
to CSS-Animations-2).
Current limitations:
- Multi-selector keyframes are not supported.
- Most animation properties are ignored.
- Timing functions are not applied.
- Non-absolute values are not interpolated unless the target is also of
the same non-absolute type (e.g. 10% -> 25%, but not 10% -> 20px).
- The JavaScript interface is left as an exercise for the next poor soul
looking at this code.
With those said, this commit implements:
- Interpolation for most common types
- Proper keyframe resolution (including the synthetic from-keyframe
containing the initial state)
- Properly driven animations, and proper style invalidation

We already install C++ source files to allow debugging applications
in HackStudio.
Installing GML files can make editing application widgets a bit faster
and easier, as you no longer need to copy files to the system. :^)
GCC 13 was released on 2023-04-26. This commit fixes Lagom build errors
when using an updated host toolchain:
- Adds a workaround for a bug in constraint handling, which made LibJS
fail to compile: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=109683
- Silences the new `-Wdangling-reference` diagnostic globally. It
produces multiple false positives with no clear way to silence them
without `#pragmas`.
- Silences `-Wself-move` in `RefPtr` tests as GCC 13 adds this
previously Clang-exclusive warning.
This class can be used to run a task in another thread, and allows the
caller to wait for the task to complete to retrieve any error that may
have occurred.
Currently, it doesn't support functions returning a value on success,
but with some template magic that should be possible. :^)
For the most part no behavior change, except that we now pass
-Wno-implicit-const-int-float-conversion and -Wno-literal-suffix
only to clang and gcc each in both lagom and serenity builds,
while we previously passed them to both in lagom builds (and
passed them to one each in serenity builds). The former is
a clang flag, the latter a gcc flag, but since we also use
-Wno-unknown-warning-option it doesn't really matter.
This is an implementation that tries to follow the spec as closely as
possible, and works with Qemu's Intel HDA and some bare metal HDA
controllers out there. Compiling with `INTEL_HDA_DEBUG=on` will provide
a lot of detailed information that could help us getting this to work
on more bare metal controllers as well :^)
Output format is limited to `i16` samples for now.
`SERENITYOS` is also set when compiling Lagom on SerenityOS, so we can't
just check it and expect `CMAKE_STAGING_PREFIX` to be set.
Instead, check `CMAKE_STAGING_PREFIX` directly and use that as an
indicator for whether we can install a file there.
This patch parses enough of GPOS tables to be able to support the
kerning information embedded in Inter.
Since that specific font only applies positioning offsets to the first
glyph in each pair, I was able to get away with not changing our API.
Once we start adding support for more sophisticated positioning, we'll
need to be able to communicate more than a simple "kerning offset" to
the clients of this code.
These are treated differently as the interface members are placed on the
object itself, not its prototype.
As the object itself still needs to be hand-written code, and we can no
longer fully hide the gnarly generated code in the prototype object,
these now generate a 'mixin' class that is added to the actual object
through inheritance.

Similar to the FontDatabase, this will be needed for Ladybird to find
emoji images. We now generate just the file name of emoji image in
LibUnicode, and look for that file in the specified path (defaulting to
/res/emoji) at runtime.
At the moment, this processes the RIFF chunk structure and extracts
the ICCP chunk, so that `icc` can now print ICC profiles embedded
in webp files. (And are image files really more than containers
of icc profiles?)
It doesn't even decode image dimensions yet.
The lossy format is a VP8 video frame. Once we get to that, we
might want to move all the image decoders into a new LibImageDecoders
that depends on both LibGfx and LibVideo. (Other newer image formats
like heic and av1f also use video frames for image data.)
The patch also contains modifications on several classes, functions or
files that are related to the `JPGLoader`.
Renaming include:
- JPGLoader{.h, .cpp}
- JPGImageDecoderPlugin
- JPGLoadingContext
- JPG_DEBUG
- decode_jpg
- FuzzJPGLoader.cpp
- Few string literals or texts
The aarch64 processor is set up to trap on unaligned memory accesses, so
to enforce that the compiler correctly generates aligned accesses, the
-mstrict-align flag is needed. We also need the -Wno-cast-align as there
are some files in AK that don't build without the flag.
The parser is still very much a work-in-progress, but it can currently
parse most of the basic bits, the only *completely* unimplemented things
in the parser are:
- heredocs (io_here)
- alias expansion
- arithmetic expansion
There are a whole suite of bugs, and syntax highlighting is unreliable
at best.
For now, this is not attached anywhere, a future commit will enable it
for /bin/sh or a `Shell --posix` invocation.
Setting the DWARF version after having selected which level of debug
information to generate apparently undoes some settings again.
Doing the reverse apparently keeps both the version and the debug level
setting, resulting in a significantly smaller disk image size.
...mostly.
This creates and uses an override for the `serenity_test()` function, so
that Lagom can make use of the existing `Tests/LibFoo/CMakeLists.txt`
files instead of having to GLOB for test source files and manually copy
any data files.
Some GLOBs remain but this is most of them.

Case folding rules have a similar mapping style as special casing rules,
where one code point may map to zero or more case folding rules. These
will be used for case-insensitive string comparisons. To see how case
folding can differ from other casing rules, consider "ß" (U+00DF):

Currently, for each exposed interface, we generate one massive function
to create every Web constructor and prototype. In an effort to lazily
create these instead, this first step is to extract the creation of each
of these into its own method.
First, this generates a forwarding header for all IDL types. This is to
allow callers to remain unchanged without forcing them to include the
(very heavy) generated IDL headers. This header is included by LibWeb's
forwarding header.
Next, this defines a base template method on Web::Bindings::Intrinsics
to create a prototype/constructor pair. Specializations of this template
are now generated in a new .cpp file, IntrinsicDefinitions.cpp. The base
Intrinsics class is updated to use this new method, and will continue to
cache the result.
Last, some WebAssembly classes are updated to use this new mechanism.
They were using some ad hoc cache keys that are now in line with the
generated specializations.
That one massive function is still used to invoke these specializations,
so they are not lazy as of this commit.
Nobody tests this network card as the person who added it, Jean-Baptiste
Boric (known as boricj) is not an active contributor in the project now.
After a discussion with him on the Discord server, we agreed it's for
the best to remove the driver, as for two reasons:
- The original author (boricj) agreed to do this, stating that he will
not be able to test the driver anymore after his Athlon XP machine is
no longer supported after the removal of the i686 port.
- It was agreed that the NE2000 network card family is far from the
ideal hardware we would want to support, similarly to the RTL8139 that
got removed recently for almost the same reason.
Nobody tests this network card, and the driver has bugs (see the issue
https://github.com/SerenityOS/serenity/issues/10198 for more details),
so it's almost certain that this happened due to code being rotting when
there's simply no testing of it.
Essentially this has been determined to be dead-code so this is the most
important reason to drop this code. Another good reason to do so is
because the RTL8139 only supports Fast Ethernet connections (10/100
Megabits per second), and is considered obsolete even for bare metal
setups.
We currently don't support DWARF revision 5 and LLVM/Clang might create
such debug info into our binaries in x86_64, which will lead to a crash
in CrashReporter that is unable to parse that information correctly.
This means that Ladybird can be built with either Meta/Lagom or Ladybird
as the top-level source directory. This setup is a bit awkward, but will
preserve the packaging story for Ladybird until we come up with a more
permanent solution.
They currently reside under Build/<arch>, meaning that they would be
redownloaded for each architecture/toolchain build combo. Move them to a
location that can be re-used for all builds.
The non-www domain does not appear to be available now. We use the www
domain for UCD.zip already.

We now generate all LibGL API wrappers from a single API method
definition list stored in `GLAPI.json`. Since a significant portion of
the OpenGL API methods are relatively consistent variants, we take
advantage of this to generate a lot of these variants at once.
The autogenerated methods check for the non-nullness of the current
`GLContext`, and only perform an action if a `GLContext` is present.
This prevents a crash in ports like GLTron, who assume you can still
call the OpenGL API without an active context.
This increases our API wrapper method count from 211 to 356.
Fixes#15814.
Clean up the Wasm spec tests CMake rules to extract and compile the wat
files into wasm files in the LibWasm binary directory instead of its
source directory. Also make the rules more robust to missing host tools,
and use more CMake install rules for the test files rather than relying
on build-root-filesystem.sh. Add some FIXMEs for later, we really
shouldn't be doing installation of test files into /home/anon at the
build-root-filesystem stage in $CURRENT_YEAR. Tests go in /usr/Tests
Tell CMake to not create a new policy scope for the
(lagom|serenity|common)_options.cmake helpers, and lets us set common
policies for both projects in common_options.cmake that actually apply
to the rest of the project, instead of just common_options.cmake itself.
Since we upstreamed CMake support for Serenity, we can use the Platform
files from upstream instead of keeping our local copy. While not added
in this commit, we can add patching capabilities for the platform files
similar to what we do for gdb, llvm, gcc, and binutils later.
This commit teaches BindingsGenerator to generate depfiles, which can be
used by CMake to ensure that bindings are properly regenerated when
imported IDL files change.
Two new options, `--depfile` and `--depfile-target` are added.
- `--depfile` sets the path for the dependency file.
- `--depfile-target` lets us set a target name different than the output
file in the depfile. This option is needed because generated files are
first written to a temporary file, but depfiles have to refer to the
final location.
These are analogous to GCC's `-MF` and `-MT` options respectively. The
depfile's syntax matches the ones generated by GCC.
Note: This changes the minimal required CMake version to 3.20 if the
Make generator is used, and to 3.21 for the Xcode generator. Ninja is
not affected.
This used to be in place until 671712cae6.
I had commented on that PR that "yeah should be good to remove". Turns
out that's not the case. A future patch to the clang driver might make
this obsolete :^).
Otherwise, we end up propagating those dependencies into targets that
link against that library, which creates unnecessary link-time
dependencies.
Also included are changes to readd now missing dependencies to tools
that actually need them.
The shared parts are now firmly compiled into LibC instead of being
defined as a static library and then being copied over manually.
The non-shared ("local") parts are kept as a static library that is
linked into each binary on demand.
This finally allows us to support linking with the -fstack-protector
flag, which now replaces the `ssp` target being linked into each binary
accidentally via CMake.
Even though the toolchain implicitly links against -lc, it does not know
where it should get LibC from except for the sysroot. In the case of
Clang this causes it to pick up the LibC stub instead, which might be
slightly outdated and feature missing symbols.
This is currently not an issue that manifests because we pass through
the dependency on LibC and other libraries by accident, which causes
CMake to link against the LibC target (instead of just the library),
and thus points the linker at the build output directory.
Since we are looking to fix that in the upcoming commits, let's make
sure that everything will still be able to find the proper LibC first.
This file will be the basis for abstracting away the out-of-thread or
later out-of-process decoding from applications displaying videos. For
now, the demuxer is hardcoded to be MatroskaParser, since that is all
we support so far. The demuxer should later be selected based on the
file header.
The playback and decoding are currently all done on one thread using
timers. The design of the code is such that adding threading should
be trivial, at least based on an earlier version of the code. For now,
though, it's better that this runs in one thread, as the multithreaded
approach causes the Video Player to lock up permanently after a few
frames are decoded.
We currently have two build-time parsers for the UCD's emoji-test.txt
file. To prepare for future changes, this removes the Bash parser and
moves its functionality to the newer C++ parser.
There were some notable changes to the CLDR JSON format and data in this
release.
The patterns for a date at a specific time, i.e. "{date} at {time}", now
appear under the "atTime" attribute of the "dateTimeFormats" object.
Locale specific changes that affected test-js:
All locales:
* In many patterns, the code points U+00A0 (NO-BREAK SPACE) and U+202F
(NARROW NO-BREAK SPACE) are now used in place of an ASCII space. For
example, before the "dayPeriod" fields AM and PM.
* Separators such as U+2013 (EN DASH) are now surrounded by U+2009 (THIN
SPACE) in place of an ASCII space character.
Locale "en":
* Narrow localizations of time formats are even more narrow. For
example, the abbreviation "wk." for "week" is now just "wk".
Locale "ar":
* The code point U+060C (ARABIC COMMA) is now used in place of an ASCII
comma.
* The code point U+200F (RIGHT-TO-LEFT MARK) now appears at the
beginning of many localizations.
* When the "latn" numbering system is used for currency formatting, the
currency symbol more consistently is placed at the end of the pattern.
Locale "he":
* The "many" plural rules category has been removed.
Locales "zh" and "es-419":
* Several display-name localizations were changed.
We have logic for serenity_generated_sources which works well for source
files that are specified in GENERATED_SOURCES prior to calling
serenity_lib or serenity_bin. However, code generated with
invoke_generator, and the LibWeb generators do not always follow the
pattern of the IDL and GML files.
For the LibWeb generators, we can just add_dependencies to LibWeb at the
time we declare the generate_Foo custom target. However for LibLocale,
LibTimeZone, and LibUnicode, we don't have the name of the target
available, so export the name in a variable to set into
GENERATED_SOURCES.
To make this work for Lagom, we need to make sure that lagom_lib and
serenity_bin in Lagom/CMakeLists.txt call serenity_generated_sources on
the target.
This enables the Xcode generator on macOS hosts, at least for Lagom.
Also do this for Shell.
This greatly simplifies the CMakeLists in Lagom, replacing many glob
patterns with a big list of libraries. There are still a few special
libraries that need some help to conform to the pattern, like LibELF and
LibWebView.
It also lets us remove essentially all of the Serenity or Lagom binary
directory detection logic from code generators, as now both projects
directories enter the generator logic from the same place.
WebDriver aims to implement the WebDriver specification found at
https://w3c.github.io/webdriver/webdriver-spec.html . It's an HTTP
server that can create Browser sessions and control them.

This new code generator takes all the .idl files in LibWeb, looks for
each top level interface in there with an [Exposed=Foo] attribute, and
adds code to add the constructor and prototype for each of those exposed
interfaces to the realm of the relevant global object we're initialzing.
It will soon replace WindowObjectHelper as the way that web interfaces
are added to the Window object, and will be used in the future for
creating proper WorkerGlobalScope objects for dedicated and shared
workers.
This is a preparation to check if our users find noticeable bugs in the
x86-64 target, before we can decide if we want to remove the i686 target
for good.
This code generator no longer creates JS wrappers for platform objects
in the old sense, instead they're JS objects internally themselves.
Most of what we generate now are prototypes - which can be seen as
bindings for the internal C++ methods implementing getters, setters, and
methods - as well as object constructors, i.e. bindings for the internal
create_with_global_object() method.
Also tweak the naming of various CMake glue code existing around this.
Parse emoji from emoji-serenity.txt to allow displaying their names and
grouping them together in the EmojiInputDialog.
This also adds an "Unknown" value to the EmojiGroup enum. This will be
useful for emoji that aren't found in the UCD, or for when UCD downloads
are disabled.
Newer cmake's have internal functions to un-compress files. These
functions will work on pure windows - as well as linux. This
eliminates the need to search for external tools (TAR,GZIP,ZIP) - and
helps fixing #9866.
In order to finally fix#9866 we need to decide to bump the cmake
version requirements and remove the checks. If we demand a newer cmake
version, we will loose Ubuntu 20.04 as a build target - as it ships
with CMake 3.16.
For now - we keep compatibility with CMake 3.16 - and only if CMake
3.18 as been found - we use its new functionality.
Remove the Corrosion dependency, and use the now-builtin
add_jakt_executable function from the Jakt install rules to build our
example application.
By using find_package(Jakt), we now have to set ENABLE_JAKT manually on
both serenity and Lagom at the same time, so the preferred method to do
this for now is:

Where omitting JAKT_SOURCE_DIR will still pull from the main branch of
SerenityOS/jakt. This can be done after runing Meta/serenity.sh run.
According to TR #51, the "best definition of the full set [of emojis] is
in the emoji-test.txt file". This defines not only the emoji themselves,
but the order in which they should be displayed, and what "group" of
emojis they belong to.
To enable incremental movement towards the removal of DOM object
instance wrappers, this patch adds a NO_INSTANCE argument that can be
passed to libweb_js_wrapper().
Currently, LibUnicodeData contains the generated UCD and CLDR data. Move
the UCD data to the main LibUnicode library, and rename LibUnicodeData
to LibLocaleData. This is another prepatory change to migrate to
LibLocale.
To prepare for placing all CLDR generated data in a new library,
LibLocale, this moves the code generators for the CLDR data to the
LibLocale subfolder.
The FLAC "spec tests", or rather the test suite by xiph that exercises
weird FLAC features and edge cases, can be found at
https://github.com/ietf-wg-cellar/flac-test-files and is a good
challenge for our FLAC decoder to become more spec compliant. Running
these tests is similar to LibWasm spec tests, you need to pass
INCLUDE_FLAC_SPEC_TESTS to CMake.
As of integrating these tests, 23 out of 63 fail. :yakplus:
The current emoji_txt.cmake does not handle download errors (which were
a common source of issues in the build problems channel) or Unicode
versioning. These are both handled by unicode_data.cmake. Move the
download to unicode_data.cmake so that we can more easily handle next
month's Unicode 15 release.
Instead of manually updating emoji.txt whenever new emoji are added,
we use Unicode's emoji-test.txt to generate emoji.txt on each build,
including only the emojis that Serenity supports at that time.
By using emoji-test.txt, we can also include all forms of each emoji
(fully-qualified, minimally-qualified, and unqualified) which can be
helpful when double-checking how certain forms are handled.
We are downloading these directly into the build directory now, and
generating the source code from there, so we no longer need the
manually created directory.
While we are at it, remove two variables that seem to be no longer in
use, and at least one of which is confusing regarding a missing prefix.
This abstraction layer is mainly for ATA ports (AHCI ports, IDE ports).
The goal is to create a convenient and flexible framework so it's
possible to expand to support other types of controller (e.g. Intel PIIX
and ICH IDE controllers) and to abstract operations that are possible on
each component.
Currently only the ATA IDE code is affected by this, making it much
cleaner and readable - the ATA bus mastering code is moved to the
ATAPort code so more implementations in the near future can take
advantage of such functionality easily.
In addition to that, the hierarchy of the ATA IDE code resembles more of
the SATA AHCI code now, which means the IDEChannel class is solely
responsible for getting interrupts, passing them for further processing
in the ATAPort code to take care of the rest of the handling logic.
Parts of our build system and scripts rely on the fact that we are
cross-compiling. For now, remove the "try to build natively" part to get
the build running and leave a TODO for later.

There are up to 2 sets of rules for each locale, a cardinal set and an
ordinal set. The approach here is to generate a C++ function for each
set of rules. Each condition in the rules (e.g. "i = 1 and v = 0") is
transpiled to a C++ if-statement within its function. Then lookup tables
are generated to match locales to their generated functions.
NOTE: -Wno-parentheses-equality is added to the LibUnicodeData compile
flags because the generated plural rules have lots of extra parentheses
(because e.g. we need to selectively negate and combine rules). The code
to generate only exactly the right number of parentheses is quite hairy,
so this just tells the compiler to ignore the extras.
Add overrides for serenity_bin and serenity_lib to allow the actual
CMakeLists.txt from Userland to be used to build as many services as
possible without adding more clutter to Meta/Lagom/CMakeLists.txt
In preparation for future refactoring of Lagom, let's use the variables
from GNUInstallDirs as much as possible for the helper macros and other
scripts used by the main build already.
The Mach-O file format does not have ELF's interposition rules, so this
flag does not make sense for macOS builds. While GCC silently accepts
the unsupported option, Clang issues a warning for it.
This commit makes it possible to build Lagom with LLVM from Homebrew.
By default we enable the Kernel Undefined Behavior Sanitizer, which
checks for undefined behavior at runtime. However, sometimes a developer
might want to turn that off, so now there is a easy way to do that.
This option sets -fprofile-instr-generate -fcoverage-mapping for Clang
builds only on almost all of Userland. Loader and LibTimeZone are
exempt. This can be used for generating code coverage reports, or even
PGO in the future.
This new class with an admittedly long OOP-y name provides a circular
queue in shared memory. The queue is a lock-free synchronous queue
implemented with atomics, and its implementation is significantly
simplified by only accounting for one producer (and multiple consumers).
It is intended to be used as a producer-consumer communication
datastructure across processes. The original motivation behind this
class is efficient short-period transfer of audio data in userspace.
This class includes formal proofs of several correctness properties of
the main queue operations `enqueue` and `dequeue`. These proofs are not
100% complete in their existing form as the invariants they depend on
are "handwaved". This seems fine to me right now, as any proof is better
than no proof :^). Anyways, the proofs should build confidence that the
implemented algorithms, which are only roughly based on existing work,
operate correctly in even the worst-case concurrency scenarios.
Instead of downloading nearly 20 files individually, we can download a
single .zip file similar to how we download a single CLDR .zip. This is
to reduce the number of connections/downloads to/from unicode.org.
WASM_SPEC_TEST_TAR_PATH actually refers to a tarball that has already
been decompressed with gzip, so running `tar -xzf` on it fails.
I introduced this mistake in 66582a875f.
There is no need to keep an intermediary plain .tar file around, we can
pass the WASM_SPEC_TEST_GZ_PATH .tar.gz directly to `tar -xzf`.
Currently this can parse XML and resolve external resources/references,
and read a DTD (but not apply or verify its rules).
That's good enough for _most_ XHTML documents as the HTML 5 spec
enforces its own rules about document well-formedness, and does not make
use of XML DTDs (aside from a list of predefined entities).
An accompanying `xml` utility is provided that can read and dump XML
documents, and can also run the XML conformance test suite.
While GNU tar automatically detects the used compression algorithm,
POSIX requires that we specify -z if the tarball is compressed with
gzip.
Fixes a build error on OpenBSD.
We have seen some cases where the build fails for folks, and they are
missing unzip/tar/gzip etc. We can catch some of these in CMake itself,
so lets make sure to handle that uniformly across the build system.
The REQUIRED flag to `find_program` was only added on in CMake 3.18 and
above, so we can't rely on that to actually halt the program execution.
With regular builds, the generated IPC headers exist inside the Build
directory. The path Userland/Services under the build directory is
added to the include path.
For in-system builds the IPC headers are installed at /usr/include/.
To support this, we add /usr/include/Userland/Services to the build path
when building from Hack Studio.

This package was originally meant to be included in CLDR version 40, but
was missed in their release scripts. This has been resolved:

Unfortunately, the CLDR was re-released with the same version number. So
to bust the build's CLDR cache, change the "version" used to detect that
we need to redownload the CLDR.
This commit removes the usage of HashMap in Mutex, thereby making Mutex
be allocation-free.
In order to achieve this several simplifications were made to Mutex,
removing unused code-paths and extra VERIFYs:
* We no longer support 'upgrading' a shared lock holder to an
exclusive holder when it is the only shared holder and it did not
unlock the lock before relocking it as exclusive. NOTE: Unlike the
rest of these changes, this scenario is not VERIFY-able in an
allocation-free way, as a result the new LOCK_SHARED_UPGRADE_DEBUG
debug flag was added, this flag lets Mutex allocate in order to
detect such cases when debugging a deadlock.
* We no longer support checking if a Mutex is locked by the current
thread when the Mutex was not locked exclusively, the shared version
of this check was not used anywhere.
* We no longer support force unlocking/relocking a Mutex if the Mutex
was not locked exclusively, the shared version of these functions
was not used anywhere.
This sets up the generator plumbing to create the relative-time data
files. This data could probably be included in the date-time generator,
but that generator is large enough that I'd rather put this tangentially
related data in its own file.
This check isn't needed because download_file() will check if it exists
already before doing the download. Worse, it would prevent the generator
target from being defined if the file existed, which then made CMake not
realize the generated files were important and delete them.
After fixing the CMake file to use the correct paths, users may have had
to manually remove the existing downloaded pnp.ids.html for CMake to re-
run the generator. So this change renames the downloaded file to
pnp_ids.html to ensure everyone picks up that change without manual
intervention.
Code generators that generate their files for both Lagom and Serenity
have a blob in their CMake file like this:

LibEDID generates files only for Serenity, but was using the Lagom build
version of the _HEADER, _IMPLEMENTATION, and _PREFIX variables. Thus if
pnp_ids.cmake was ever touched, the following error would be raised:

Use the Serenity paths in pnp_ids.cmake and in the #include within
LibEDID itself.
This function will handle download failures. It doesn't support hashing
for integrity yet, but if the download times out or otherwise fails, the
build itself will fail. But default, file(DOWNLOAD) in CMake doesn't
fail the build; we must pass in and check a STATUS variable.
This commit adds support for building the SerenityOS userland with the
new [mold linker].
This is not enabled by default yet; to link using mold, run the
`Toolchain/BuildMold.sh` script to build the latest release of mold, and
set the `ENABLE_MOLD_LINKER` CMake variable to ON. This option relies on
toolchain support that has been added just recently, so you might need
to rebuild your toolchain for mold to work.

This downloads the UEFI's published PNP ID database and generates a
lookup table for use in LibEDID. The lookup table isn't optimized at
all, but this can be easily done at a later point if needed.
