baa8118893 Refactor common pattern in service files
- Use array destructuring
- Use @tryghost/errors
- Part of the big move towards decoupling, this gives visibility on what's being used where
- Biting off manageable chunks / fixing bits of code I'm refactoring for other reasons

22e13acd65 Updated var declarations to const/let and no lists
- All var declarations are now const or let as per ES6
- All comma-separated lists / chained declarations are now one declaration per line
- This is for clarity/readability but also made running the var-to-const/let switch smoother
- ESLint rules updated to match

How this was done:

- npm install -g jscodeshift
- git clone https://github.com/cpojer/js-codemod.git
- git clone git@github.com:TryGhost/Ghost.git shallow-ghost
- cd shallow-ghost
- jscodeshift -t ../js-codemod/transforms/unchain-variables.js . -v=2
- jscodeshift -t ../js-codemod/transforms/no-vars.js . -v=2
- yarn
- yarn test
- yarn lint / fix various lint errors (almost all indent) by opening files and saving in vscode
- grunt test-regression
- sorted!

db53ac0721 Update Test & linting packages (major) (#10858)
no issue

- Updated Test & linting packages
- Updated use of hasOwnProperty
- Using Object.prototype.hasOwnProperty instead (ref. eslint.org/docs/rules/no-prototype-builtins)
- Removed already defined built-in global variable Intl
- Applied `--fix` with lint command on `core/test` folder
- The rules were broken because some of them were made stricter for `eslint: recommended` ruleset (ref. https://eslint.org/docs/user-guide/migrating-to-6.0.0#eslint-recommended-changes)
- Removed redundant global variable declarations to pass linting

Migrated to use url-utils from Ghost-SDK (#10787)
closes #10773

- The refactoring is a substitute for `urlService.utils` used previously throughout the codebase and now extracted into the separate module in Ghost-SDK
- Added url-utils stubbing utility for test suites
- Some tests had to be refactored to avoid double mocks (when url's are being reset inside of rested 'describe' groups)

Changed where we trigger server start/stop announcement (#9815)
closes #9802

- we have to trigger both functions within Ghost core, otherwise people who are using Ghost as NPM module have to call these functions
- this is internal logic
- plus: this logic is conditional, because of our internal maintenance flag
- make it backwards compatible in case you call announceServerStart or announceServerStopped twice
- tested with "Ghost as NPM module" and with the CLI on production

450cec7836 Extended bootstrap socket handling
no issue

- if you have a bootstrap socket configured, but the socket does not appear, Ghost would crash
- cases:
  - your server bootstraps (Ghost-CLI automatically starts Ghost via systemd)
  - you add a bootstrap config in your Ghost config manually, but you don't start a net server
- added handling to catch errors and retry 3 times

0e521792aa Added bootstrap socket extension
refs https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost-CLI/issues/759

- Ghost will announce the server start or failure in each case
- therefor you have to configure a bootstrap socket host and port

23b4fd26c6 Moved knex-migrator execution into Ghost
refs #9742, refs https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost-CLI/issues/759

- required a reordering of Ghost's bootstrap file, because:
  - we have to ensure that no database queries are executed within Ghost during the migrations
  - make 3 sections: check if db needs initialisation, bootstrap Ghost with minimal components (db/models, express apps, load settings+theme)
- create a new `migrator` utility, which tells you which state your db is in and offers an API to execute knex-migrator based on this state
- ensure we still detect an incompatible db: you connect your 2.0 blog with a 0.11 database
- enable maintenance mode if migrations are missing
- if the migration have failed, knex-migrator roll auto rollback
  - you can automatically switch to 1.0 again
- added socket communication for the CLI

4265afe580 Moved utils/url.js to UrlService
refs #9178

- we have to take care that we don't end up in circular dependencies
  - e.g. API requires UrlService and UrlService needs to require the API (for requesting data)
- update the references
- we would like to get rid of the utils folder, this is/was the most complicated change

fe90cf2be2 Theme loading part 1 (#7989)
no issue

* Add new server start & stop events
* 🔥 Get rid of unused availableApps concept
- when we need an API endpoint for a list of apps, we'll build one 😝
* Move theme loading into a module
- move loading from API method to a module method and use as needed
- wire up read one vs read all as per LTS
- read one (the active theme) on boot, and read the rest after
- fudge validation - this isn't all that helpful
* Settings API tests need to preload themes
- this used to automatically happen as part of loading settings
- now we need to trigger this to happen specifically for this test

d81bc91bd2 Error creation (#7477)
refs #7116, refs #2001

- Changes the way Ghost errors are implemented to benefit from proper inheritance
- Moves all error definitions into a single file
- Changes the error constructor to take an options object, rather than needing the arguments to be passed in the correct order.
- Provides a wrapper so that any errors that haven't already been converted to GhostErrors get converted before they are displayed.

Summary of changes:

* 🐛  set NODE_ENV in config handler
*   add GhostError implementation (core/server/errors.js)
  - register all errors in one file
  - inheritance from GhostError
  - option pattern
* 🔥 remove all error files
* wrap all errors into GhostError in case of HTTP
* 🎨  adaptions
  - option pattern for errors
  - use GhostError when needed
* 🎨 revert debug deletion and add TODO for error id's

1882278b5b 🎨 configurable logging with bunyan (#7431)
- 🛠 add bunyan and prettyjson, remove morgan

- add logging module
  - GhostLogger class that handles setup of bunyan
  - PrettyStream for stdout

- config for logging
  - @TODO: testing level fatal?

- log each request via GhostLogger (express middleware)
  - @TODO: add errors to output

- 🔥 remove errors.updateActiveTheme
  - we can read the value from config

- 🔥 remove 15 helper functions in core/server/errors/index.js
  - all these functions get replaced by modules:
    1. logging
    2. error middleware handling for html/json
    3. error creation (which will be part of PR #7477)

- add express error handler for html/json
  - one true error handler for express responses
  - contains still some TODO's, but they are not high priority for first implementation/integration
  - this middleware only takes responsibility of either rendering html responses or return json error responses

- 🎨 use new express error handler in middleware/index
  - 404 and 500 handling

- 🎨 return error instead of error message in permissions/index.js
  - the rule for error handling should be: if you call a unit, this unit should return a custom Ghost error

- 🎨 wrap serve static module
  - rule: if you call a module/unit, you should always wrap this error
  - it's always the same rule
  - so the caller never has to worry about what comes back
  - it's always a clear error instance
  - in this case: we return our notfounderror if serve static does not find the resource
  - this avoid having checks everywhere

- 🎨 replace usages of errors/index.js functions and adapt tests
  - use logging.error, logging.warn
  - make tests green
  - remove some usages of logging and throwing api errors -> because when a request is involved, logging happens automatically

- 🐛 return errorDetails to Ghost-Admin
  - errorDetails is used for Theme error handling

- 🎨 use 500er error for theme is missing error in theme-handler

- 🎨 extend file rotation to 1w
