resources: Remove the default factories. (#8645) 
* resources: Wrapper constructors around the normal Resource types.

* resources: Factor out `ResourceFactories#apply`.

* resources: Remove the global factories.

They're no longer necessary, and could cause confusion. Users should use
their own factory object, not a generic one.
