Summary: Abort one of the most general exceptions in Mercurial. In theory it should be something that isn't handled. We can say at least that it shouldn't be retried. For thing that may be transient it is better to use a different type of exception. NetworkError is something is checked and retries in a few places so that seems like a natural candidate.
