<p>Pollard Phonetic (Pollard Miao) is an East Asian abugida, written left-to-right. Used in southern China and Southeast Asia for the A-Hmao, Lipo, Szechuan Miao, Nasu languages. Created 1936 by Samuel Pollard, inspired by Canadian Aboriginal syllabics. Revised in 1988, remains popular among the Hmong people in China.
