The outher had draw this style letters as onomatopoeia in her manga when

she was a teenager. Eventually she stopped drawing manga, but made this

||

letters to the font named Otomanopee and began distributing it under an open

source license in 2007.

Why the font is named Otomanopee is that the author mistook the spelling

of onomatopoeia for "otomanopoeia" in her childhood.
