I'm calling it a temporary defeat on the shaping changes; this commit effectively reverts the series of changes made to support slicing up ligatures like `->` when the cursor moves through them. They've introduced so many issues and I've spent hours that haven't resulted in a complete solution, so I've disabled those changes by putting them behind a boolean option.
