Code at the speed of thought – Zed is a high-performance, multiplayer code editor from the creators of Atom and Tree-sitter.

There hasn't been a componentized way to create inputs or text fields thus far due to the innate circular dependency between the `ui` and `editor` crates. To bypass this issue we are introducing a new `ui_text_field` crate to specifically handle this component. `TextField` provides the ability to add stacked or inline labels, as well as applies a standard visual style to inputs. Example: ![CleanShot - 2024-04-10 at 11 22 13@2x](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/assets/1714999/9bf5fc40-5024-4d01-9a8b-fb76f67d7e6e) We'll continue to evolve this component in the near future and start using it in the app once we've built out the needed functionality. Licensing
License information for third party dependencies must be correctly provided for CI to pass.
We use cargo-about
to automatically comply with open source licenses. If CI is failing, check the following:
- Is it showing a
no license specified
error for a crate you've created? If so, addpublish = false
under[package]
in your crate's Cargo.toml. - Is the error
failed to satisfy license requirements
for a dependency? If so, first determine what license the project has and whether this system is sufficient to comply with this license's requirements. If you're unsure, ask a lawyer. Once you've verified that this system is acceptable add the license's SPDX identifier to theaccepted
array inscript/licenses/zed-licenses.toml
. - Is
cargo-about
unable to find the license for a dependency? If so, add a clarification field at the end ofscript/licenses/zed-licenses.toml
, as specified in the cargo-about book.
