The XRegExp dependency was breaking as new browsers add more es6 support as evidenced in #6102. Upgrading to version 3.1.0 fixed the Chrome "experimental JS" issue but was still broken in Safari Technology Preview.
We only use one feature of `XRegExp` in a single place for a relatively non-critical feature: calculating the word count. As such I figured it may be better to drop the 63KB minified dependency and simply copy the result of the compiled regex directly until such time as XRegExp has native support in our supported browsers.

In `gh-content-view-container` the visibility of another DOM node was
being used to detect if a given view was mobile or not. This means the
UI needed to have layout forced (and DOM rendered) before the content
view container would render a second time. This is slow interaction with
the DOM (forcing layout) and slow for Ember's renderer (it needs to
render the container once with a default, then again when the value
changes).
Additionally there were two ways resize was being observed. The
`Window.matchMedia` API was used for some styles and the `ember-resize`
addon used to detect other changes. Here I've unified around just the
`Window.matcheMedia` API but abstracted it behind a service.
Sizes are exposed as properties that can be bound to or used directly in
templates.

When buttons changed to flexbox they lost some alignment properties. This change makes the container for the empty content state use a flexbox container and align its containing items correctly. Also removes some old media queries which are no longer needed.
No issue. Fixes bug where signin form was not expanding to its full width as a result of some earlier global changes. This sets an explicit fluid width with a max-width fallback so that it's always the correct size.

This improves a hack for parsing JSON to be more robust.
Now attempt to parse JSON, and if it's not possible it will fallback to treating the value is a string,
